The essential backpack with everything today's kid needs! Perfect for primary and tween aged kids. You'll love features such as a side easy access zip compartment perfect to hold a phone, an outer D-loop for attaching bag tags or keychains and internal front pocket clip for clipping coin purses and wallets. It also sports a drink bottle sleeve, inner padded pocket for a laptop/tablet with elasticated velcro fastener to hold in place and 5- zipped compartments. This bag is both super cool, lightweight and practical - a winner with both parents AND kids

This schoolbag is very well made, beautiful and colourful. It is roomy enough to store a generous size lunch bag, water bottle, jacket, library bag etc. It has lots of compartments as well. My only gripe is that the mesh netting on the side which my kid uses it to store water bottle is quite weak. Only 1 year into it and the netting has starting ripping apart with a big hole in it. Hopefully this can be addressed and made out of different material in the future.

My grandson loves his Spencil backpack. He has previously owned a Big Kids backpack. It fits in all his belongings with plenty of pockets to separate everything. A front pocket for his rainjacket. A pocket for his lunchbag to keep it separate. A little picket for his wallet that holds his school pass. The big pocket which has a separate area for a laptop and plenty of room for his folders. The backpack is waterproof and can be wiped over easily if required. It has padded shoulder straps that are adjustable. Plenty of designs to choose from. We highly recommend this backpack for any age, from kindergarten to high school. It's perfect!

Let's get it straight, I was asked to review my big kids backpack and Spencil said they hope that "the kids" love my purchases. I bought this for myself. I'm a grandmother and I wanted an overnight bag that suits my style and that was too girly for my husband to steal, because I'm sick of him stealing my overnight bag. I was hoping that my gaming laptop would fit in the laptop sleeve, but it's about 1-2cm too wide and 3-4cm too long, that's my error, not Spencil's. Otherwise, it's a very good overnight bag, well made with lots of pockets and hubby won't steal it, so it's almost perfect. Check out my reviews for the drawstring "laundry" bag and the A4 "bathroom bag" (pencil case) for the complete kit. No more plain black luggage for me and no boring, ugly old lady stuff either.

Last year I purhased the little kids backpack which was a great entry level for my 1 year old, however I was finding it a little small over winter having to pack nappies, spare clothes and jackets. The big kids backpack provides so much more room and holds everything my child needs for daycare with room to bring home their endless amount of art work! These bags are fantastic, I first purchased two of them 4 years ago when my kids were at daycare, they have been used at least 4 days a week these past years, and they still look great. Not one bit of stitching has come undone. We did have one of the zippers break recently, and the drink bottle holder wear through, and we will be buying a new Spencil bag because I know how hardy they are. The pockets are perfect for school, and little things like the clip at the front are great for bus passes, everything has been thought of. Highly recommend these bags.

My kids all have Spencil bags - a mix of little & big kid styles. So, when I needed a back pack to take on my Scouting adventures, I knew exactly what I wanted and came straight to Spencil!
This bag has great storage capacity and organisation (easy to find stuff!) and the drink bottle pockets are sturdy & fit 750ml Montii bottles in it without them flopping out. I like the little sections on the front for "quick grab" or small items. It's so comfortable I can wear it all day even when it's fully loaded. All the other Scout leaders were very impressed too.
Aside from the bag itself, I also have to praise the Spencil team. They work fast and their customer service is absolutely amazing. The pickup from Wulkuraka is super handy for me too, as I'm local!

I am super happy with my purchase. My 5-year-old loves her new bag. It is well made, has plenty of pockets/compartments and it is light enough. Before ordering this bag, I was concerned that it might be too big for 5-year-old girl. Of course, it is a little big for her body, but, it was fine considering she will grow fast. I considered buying a bag from a competitor brand s**ggl*s but they look ugly and flashy and way too expensive (sorry s**ggl*s fans). You will find this Spencil bag Cute yet classic. Plus the price was very affordable. I will consider buying from Spencils again.

I'm a pet sitter and always have a backpack with me when walking my dogs. I carry quite a bit - car keys, camera, phone, towels, poop bags etc etc. Being a pet sitter I like to have something with dogs on it and it can be hard to find something suitable. I didn't want an adult backpack as they are way too big and I also like to have the pack not too close to my back as I live in the tropics and it's simply too hot. So when the backpack arrived I found it did fit just fine for me so not too tight on the straps. The bag is well made and has lots of compartments for everything and it's easy to find your stuff quickly. There are double zips so if one fails there's another to cover. It's been in use constantlay for a few weeks now and I'm finding it to be durable..

My 12-year-old autistic son faced commencing high school without family support (due to his sibling's cancer treatment). Leading up to school 175km away from family, he was anxious but bravely acting grown up. Having outgrown his How to Train Your Dragon backpack he felt empowered by choosing the more mature-looking Ocean Marble Backpack online and arranging delivery addressed to himself. Unfortunately, Australia Post did not recognise his name at the temporary address with family friends and returned his parcel to Spencil interstate without informing him.
When Spencil found out his story and his need to get a school bag for the start of high school they quickly resent the order with a heartfelt message of apology. He was excited to carry a much sturdier and maturer looking back pack to his new high school.

Lovely looking bag which my daughter loves but drink bottle holder has a large hole developing only a couple of weeks after starting school. We had the exact same issue with a spencil backpack last year and the holder failed completely within a few weeks. Won’t be buying again. Last year’s bag only lasted the year which was disappointing and wasteful. A redesign with better quality fabric overall and a different fabric for drink holder is what is needed.
