Introducing our special collaboration with the Children’s Book Council of Australia, with a capsule range themed on the Children's Book Week 2023 theme – “READ, GROW, INSPIRE”. The gorgeous illustration featured across the Book Week range is by feature artist, Matt Ottley. The illustration is made up of sky and clouds, representing the vastness of the universe; a stack of books, a mystical seahorse and other elements that represent every letter of the alphabet.

Matt Ottley shares his excitement and inspiration behind the beautiful artwork that themes the 2023 Children's Book Week design.

"The sky and clouds have always represented the vastness of the universe and a wonder of learning and growing for me. And in many cultures, the seahorse represents growth, strength and beauty - perfect for the themes of growing and inspiring."

Matt's creative flair doesn't stop with this gorgeous design, he has also intertwined a mysterious riddle for you to crack! In this picture, there is an element or thing for every letter of the alphabet, can you find them? It could be the name of the thing like "S" for "Starfish", or it could be something about the thing like "F" for the "Five" legs of a starfish!

Each year since 1945 the CBCA has brought children and books together across Australia through Children's Book Week®. During this time schools and public libraries spend one glorious week celebrating books and Australian children's authors and illustrators.

Classroom teachers, teacher librarians and public librarians create colourful displays, develop activities, run competitions and tell stories relating to a theme to highlight the importance of reading. We are thrilled to partner with the Children's Book Council of Australia to produce a gorgeous range of school supplies for 2023!
