Introducing our newest Spencil Artist Collaboration: Wani-Wani Watina by Kalkadoon sisters Brooke and Jaide Sutton
Wani-Wani Watina means “To Play Side by Side” in the Kalkadoon language. This beautiful artwork is a reflection of the bond between children, siblings, and community, celebrating connection, family, and the joy of growing together.
At Spencil, we’re passionate about sharing stories through art and culture, and we’re proud to bring Brooke and Jaide’s design to life in our latest collection.
This vibrant artwork tells a story of togetherness. Just as Brooke and Jaide created it side by side, Wani-Wani Watina symbolises children learning, playing, and supporting one another throughout life’s journey.
Through bold colour, pattern, and cultural symbolism, the design highlights themes of family, connection, and joy — a reminder of the strength we find in relationships and the importance of walking alongside each other.

We are incredibly proud to partner with Brooke and Jaide on this meaningful collaboration. Their design captures the warmth, joy, and connection of childhood in a way that resonates deeply with us and with families across Australia.
For Brooke and Jaide, creating art is about keeping culture strong and sharing stories with others. Wani-Wani Watina, which means “To Play Side by Side” in the Kalkadoon language, celebrates fun, friendship, and connection.
This vibrant artwork tells the story of a bilby and a koala as they learn to share, play, and live happily side by side. Surrounded by swirling patterns and joyful colours, the design reminds us how wonderful it is to have friends, celebrate differences, and enjoy the world together.
At its heart, Wani-Wani Watina is a reminder that life is better when we support one another, grow together, and play side by side
